911 call released in Henry County child death

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – A call to Henry County 911 on November 17 details the moments a foster mother tried to save the life of a 2-year-old child in her care.

The attempts to save the child were unsuccessful and the woman, Jennifer Rosenbaum, has been charged with murder and child abuse.

Warrant: Foster child died after beatings, starvation

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- The original call for help said little Laila Marie Daniel had choked. Her family says they were told it was a chicken bone. But the arrest warrants obtained by 11Alive say the 2-year-old foster child was actually denied food while in the care of Jennifer Rosenbaum, a Henry County Commission candidate and her husband.  

Henry County Commission candidate charged in death of foster child

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – A Henry County Commission candidate has been charged with murder in the death of a 2-year-old foster child.

According to records from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Rosenbaum is facing numerous charges connected to Laila Marie Daniel's death. Police charged Rosenbaum Friday night with murder, aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree (causing excessive physical or mental pain) and second degree cruelty to children. Rosenbaum's husband, Joseph is charged with two counts of cruelty to children causing excessive physical or mental pain in first degree.

The charge stunned the Rosenbaums' next door neighbor, Craig Rozar. He said that he had seen the child playing in the Rosenbaums' yard and saw no evidence of trauma. 

2 children killed, 1 critical after train collides with minivan

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Two children were killed and another was critically injured after a minivan driven by their father was struck by a freight train in Henry County Sunday evening.

The accident happened at Valley Hill Road and East Atlanta Drive in Stockbridge.  

Investigators say the gate was down and the sirens flashing when the driver went around the gate and the vehicle was struck by the train.

McDonough police find missing elderly man

McDONOUGH, Ga. -- Authorities are asking for help to find a missing elderly man in need of his medication.

McDonough police issued an alert for Bennie Anthony, 70, who went missing on Saturday.

Police said he takes multiple medicines including those for schizophrenia and high blood pressure. He hasn’t had those medications in over 24 hours. Anthony was last seen inside the city limits of McDonough in the 100 block of Jonesboro Road.

He is described as a black male who is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans, a black shirt and black shoes.

Police: Woman attacked while unloading groceries

MCDONOUGH, Ga. – Police are searching for a man who allegedly followed a woman into her home and attempted to sexually assault her.

According to Henry County Police, the man entered a woman’s home on Coral Circle in McDonough as she was unloading groceries on Nov. 9.  The suspect fled the house after attempting a sexual assault.
