ATLANTA, Ga. -- For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we've compiled a list of public pools in the area for you, your family and friends to take a dip and cool off in the heat of the summer sun.
With an economy like ours, it’s imperative that people look for a bargain wherever they can and public pools offer fun with that’s easy on the pockets. Check out these local pools and enjoy a classic, cost-effective, exciting summertime experience.
Public pools in Clayton County open on June 1. All pools charge a usage fee of $3 for Clayton County residents or $20 for a monthly pass. Facilities include:
Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center is located at 3799 Rex Road in Rex.
Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center is located at 9045 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro.
Virginia Burton Gray Recreation Center is located at 1475 East Fayetteville Road in Riverdale.
There are two community pools in Peachtree City at the Glenloch Recreation Center and the Kedron Aquatic Center. The daily fee for an adult is $5 and $3 for children and seniors over 65. These centers offer summer passes and family rates. Glenloch is located at 601 Stevens Entry in Peachtree City. The Kedron Aquatic Center is located at 202 Kedron Drive in Peachtree City.
Fulton County Parks open on June 6 and will remain open until August 12. The department of Recreation has decided to up the price of individual admission to $2 per person. Area parks include:
Godby Road Community Center is located at 2302 Godby Road in College Park.
Hugh Conley Recreation Center is located at 3636 College Street in College Park.
Welcome All Park is located at 4255 Will Lee Road in College Park.
