McDonough - Connecting Henry, Inc., together with Avalon Hope, Inc. and other businesses, organizations and churches have put together a new Christmas program, Christmas for the Community by the Community, to help those in need during the holiday season. With officials having just finished interviews with families who are need this holiday season, Susan Crumbley of Connecting Henry said that they have nearly 1,000 children to help this year.
The new program, featuring the Community Cares Toy Shop, is a revamped program from last year’s Connecting Henry ‘s Community Christmas and is designed to better meet the needs in the county, which are continuing to increase, even as resources continue to decrease.
This three-day Christmas event will take place from December 8 through December 10 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The goal of the event is to give families in need a joyful Christmas experience.
