Family of 14 kids enjoys organized chaos

MCDONOUGH - If you think you have a lot of Christmas gifts to buy for your immediate family, you have nothing on the Adkins family of McDonough.

Jerome and LaChelle have 14 children, including one just five weeks old!

Just walk into the house and you immediately experience loud, chaotic and a lot of fun, but the family that works like a well-oiled machine.

"You just do things that are natural to you and you don't realize it is a machine," said LaChelle.

LaChelle grew up as an only child, so she wanted a big family.

They're a blended family, but LaChelle has actually birthed 12 of the and there are no sets of twins.

Twelve of the 14 children live at home. Brenddo, 21,n is an aspiring actor in California. and, 18 year old andChristian, 18, lives with his mom in Indiana.

At home for the holiday is Taylor, a sophomore at Valdosta State. Next come the pair who attend Eagles Landing High School: Jonathon, a junior, and Alexdandria, a sophomore.

There are two in Eagle's Land middle school: 8th grader Mackenzie and 7th grader, Victoria.

Elisabeth attends fifth grade at Flippen Elementary. Olivia's, 8, and Danielle, 7, and they're both at Living Word Christian Academy.

The pint-sized bunch of little ones all have names that begin with "J": There's Jeremiah, 4, Joshua, 3 and, Jordan, 21 months.

Finally, there's the baby, Faith, born November 17 - and the only c-section child.

On Christmas, each child gets three gifts from Christmas.

"Because baby Jesus received three gifts," said Taylor.
