News

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (WXIA) -- One person was reportedly injured in a fire at a Stockbridge storage facility Thursday night.

The fire broke out at about 11 p.m. at the U-Haul Self Storage facility on Hudson Bridge Road, according to Henry County Fire Capt. Sabrina Puckett. It created thick smoke that could be seen for miles.

Puckett said as many as 200 to 400 individual storage units were damaged by fire and smoke, and described the damage as "substantial."

The injured person admitted himself to the Henry County Medical Center; he is "possibly linked to the fire incident," Puckett said.

The man was later transferred to the burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital. His name has not been released.
