HAMPTON, Ga. -- Homeowners in the Pebble Ridge subdivision say three would-be burglars neglected to notice one thing when they tried to break into a home Saturday night.
The house was recently equipped with video surveillance cameras, which captured approximately 45 minutes of potential evidence as the young men cased the home and then tried to kick in the back door. The thieves ended up setting off an alarm and the suspects ran away.
The homeowners and their newborn were asleep upstairs when they heard a loud banging noise around 11:45 p.m. By the time they went downstairs, no one was there.
Police now have a copy of the surveillance video. Neighbors say there have been several break ins in the area.
