HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- Henry County firefighters will begin servicing the county's fire hydrants on Friday, Mar. 1.
Residents are asked to look out for a change in their homes' water clarity when the firefighters are working in their areas.
If the water is not as clear as normal, running it for a few minutes should clear it, according to Henry County Fire Department Capt. Sabrina Puckett. Clothes that are washed in water that isn't clear could be stained.
"Henry County Fire Department apologizes in advance for any inconvenience, but is hopeful that citizens understand the importance of ensuring that fire hydrants are visible, accessible and in proper operating condition for the safety of all citizens," Puckett said in a statement,
Fire hydrant maintenance is typically performed twice a year, in March and September.
