News

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- Authorities say a robbery suspect exchanged gunfire with an officer and then led police on a chase through two counties on Tuesday.

According to Clayton County Police, an officer saw the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Brandon Hoskins, get out of his vehicle and pistol-whip the driver of another car. Detectives got out of their vehicle and told Hoskins to stop. The detectives said Hoskins then fired shots at them, got back into his car and fled.

Detectives then chased the suspect into Henry County. According to police, Hoskins wrecked the vehicle at a stop sign around Banks Drive at Flipped Road and fled on foot.

A manhunt involving the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Henry County Police and the Georgia State Patrol ended when K-9 units tracked Hoskins under a shed behind a house. He was taken into custody.

The incident remains under investigation.
