Dancing salutatorian shows his moves on 11Alive | News
LOCUST GROVE, Ga. -- "I am proud to be your salutatorian," Parker Pitisci said at the end of his salutatory speech during Luella High School's recent commencement ceremony.
It seemed like a typical speech -- until Parker returned to the stage with a surprise for his classmates.
He burst into a Napoleon Dynamite-style dance, to the delight of everyone in attendance. A video of his performance immediately went viral.
"I like breakdancing, I like performing and just hip-hop dance in general, so I just thought, hey, why not do it at graduation," Parker explained Thursday on the 11Alive morning show.
The Henry County resident, who will attend Georgia Tech in the fall, then proceeded to repeat the dance in the 11Alive studio. Even losing his microphone in the middle of his performance didn't slow him down.
