Stockbridge HS STEAM Academy to open this fall
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- The Stockbridge STEAM Academy will open its doors for the very first time in August.
About 40 Stockbridge High School freshmen and sophomores will be the first-ever students to experience the program, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and math programs.
"The school leadership team added the Arts A in STEAM to reflect its commitment to and recognition of the arts as a critical component of education," Stockbridge High principal Eric Watson explained.
STEAM Academy students will learn many skills and gain new appreciations, Waton said, including research, publication opportunities, international awareness and a commitment to lifelong learning.
"Upon graduation, STEAM high school students will be highly sought-after by select universities and industries, regionally, nationally and internationally," Watson said.
