ATLANTA -- An Atlanta-area newcomer has received a $2.5 million welcome to town.

Joseph Burnette won the top prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks.

"It's real!" the lucky winner exclaimed when he picked up his prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Burnette, 31, is a fairgrounds concession worker. He recently relocated to Georgia from Fredericksburg, Va.

In addition to the grand prize, Burnette won $20 on a Georgia Millions instant ticket. He bought both tickets at the Citgo on Highway 138 in Stockbridge.

"I was going for gas and I paid for it," he said of his top prize. "I didn't even get the gas. I fell down."

Burnette added that he plans to buy a car and a computer with some of his cash.
