HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- The employees at the central office for Henry County Schools are doing their part to promote kindness in the community.

Last week was Kindness Week, and the employees recognized it with a Blue Out, where they wore blue -- the week's color -- and struck a pose on Friday, Nov. 16.

Georgia Kindness Week is the second week in November. It was created in honor of Henry County resident Hunter Welch, who passed away in 2004. Welch was very dedicated to his community. After his death, his family decided to keep his legacy alive by forming a local kindness campaign.

Rep. Andy Welch (R-McDonough), Hunter's brother, made Kindness Week official by introducing a resolution during the 2012 legislative session.
